Description
This was a magical evening for us. We spent most of the day driving our RV southbound down Highway 1 along the West coast. I highly HIGHLY recommend you don't do this. The highway is a very narrow road winding along a cliff-side and just not meant for large vehicles. But hey, you live and you learn right? Anyway, after hours of this kind of driving I was exhausted and knew we needed to pull over for the night. We were still 20 miles or so outside of Fort Bragg where we had planned to make it to that day but I knew it wasn't safe to continue driving while being so tired. We found a rest stop right off the highway that didn't have any signs of "No Overnight Parking" so we decided to find a level spot to park and rest. When we stepped outside there was a small trail leading into a field so we figured we'd stretch our legs and take our dog for a walk. We were greeted with a stunning view of the Westport Tide Pools in California. We walked to the cliff's edge when we spotted two seals lounging on the rocks. I was so excited! We had never seen seals in the wild before. It was right before the sun was about to set so I ran back to the RV, grabbed my camera and the rest is history. If you look closely at the photo you can see the two seals laying on the rocks.
