Description
What once was a popular vacation destination for celebrities and Hollywood hot shots is now an abandoned, murky, toxic wasteland. Filled with the stench of rotting fish and rotten eggs due to the high levels of hydrogen sulfide and many other toxic chemicals. This lake is not one you'd want to swim in. In fact, dogs aren't even allowed on the beaches for their "own safety." However, if you're brave enough to visit the Salton Sea, located in the Coachella Valleys of California, you will find it teeming with all sorts of wildlife. Upon a closer look at this image you will see a plethora of birds flying all about the polluted air and bathing in the salty waters.

Well, it might be toxic but it sure is gorgeous! Love the play of colors in your image.
Shannon Williams replied:
Thank you very much, Peggy! I really wanted to highlight the thick feeling of murkyness and also show off how hazy the air was.
