We lived in Fairbanks, Alaska for three years before making it out to the Ice Museum at the Chena Hot Springs. We had been to the hot springs many times but always seemed to miss the open hours of the museum. When we finally made it we couldn't believe the wonderland inside. In all honesty, the outside of the building is not entirely intriguing... but as soon as you step inside, you're transported into another world. The Ice Sculptures were incredible and some quite massive. In the midst of all its beauty and wonder, I was drawn to this small branch of flowers, Cherry Blossoms, frozen in a block of ice. Sometimes it's the simplest of beauties that draw us in and feeds our desire to be inspired.

I picked up a camera before moving to Alaska where I honed my photography skills using the stunning mountains and rivers of the vast, wild tundra as my classroom.
